Our Therapeutic Approach
Our work with trauma is grounded in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), a leading evidence-based approach for healing from trauma. We also draw from other effective modalities including ACT, DBT, and Relational Psychotherapy, allowing us to tailor treatment to your unique needs and goals.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
CPT is a trauma-focused therapy that helps you identify and shift unhelpful beliefs formed in the aftermath of trauma. It guides you in understanding how trauma has affected the way you see yourself, others, and the world—and supports you in challenging these beliefs in a way that promotes healing, growth, and empowerment.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT supports trauma recovery by helping you become aware of how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact. By identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and replacing them with more realistic and compassionate alternatives, CBT builds the skills needed to manage distress and regain control of your daily life.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT provides practical tools for managing overwhelming emotions and improving distress tolerance. It also teaches mindfulness and interpersonal effectiveness, helping you feel more grounded, present, and confident in your ability to navigate relationships and daily life.
Relational Psychotherapy
Healing from trauma often includes repairing the ways we connect to others—and to ourselves. Relational therapy emphasizes the importance of safe, supportive relationships in healing. Through the therapeutic relationship, you can explore attachment wounds, rebuild trust, and develop deeper emotional connection and self-worth.
