Frequently Asked
Questions
How do I get started?
The first step is to book a consultation. During the consultation, we’ll discuss the concerns you’d like to address in therapy and explore how we can best support you. This conversation also helps determine whether we are a good fit for working together and will provide you with information about next steps to get started. Consultations are conducted by phone and are free of charge.
What does a typical session look like?
Therapy sessions are typically scheduled on a weekly basis. However, frequency can be adjusted according to your needs—ranging from twice weekly to biweekly sessions. Each session is tailored to your goals, focusing on the challenges you’re facing and the strengths you bring to the process.
Do you accept insurance?
We accept UMR top-tier insurance from Mount Sinai Employees.
We work with clients as out-of-network providers for other insurance carriers, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare. These insurances may provide partial reimbursement (usually 40–70% of your session fee), depending on your plan. We will provide you with a Superbill to submit to your insurance company.
To learn about your reimbursement rates, you can call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your out-of-network behavioral health benefits. We encourage you to inquire about your co-pay, and whether you have an out-of-network deductible that you need to meet before reimbursement begins. We usually use CPT codes of 90837, 90834, and 90791 for the first sessions.
Payment
We accept payment by cash, check, Zelle, credit card, and HSA/FSA cards.
